Helpful Kitchen Devices We Use Often In Our Cooking

We wanted to share the kitchen appliances that we use at home to make cooking more enjoyable and quicker. It took me a few years to really appreciate my food processor that my mother gifted to me, but now I use it all the time. It is great for quickly cutting a block of cheese or whipping up salsa/dressing. I highly recommend purchasing blocks of cheese instead of shredded cheese for better flavor. The most used appliance in the house after our espresso maker is our blender! Blending smoothies is our go to if we can't decide what to eat in a pinch.

When we feel a cold brewing, we bust out our electric tea kettle for instant hot water to pour over turmeric tea. An important kitchen tool for me is a good quality food scraper to scrap up all the chopped onion, garlic, and vegetables into the skillet. The food scraper keeps your hands clean and cuts down on transferring your chopped items into the desired container.

Occasionally, I will cook rice the traditional way on the stove, but more often than not I use our rice cooker. The rice cooker allows me to focus on the other parts of the meal preparations. We have two types of rice cookers. My husband loves the advanced cooker and I reach for the smaller rice cooker that has a steamer on top for vegetables. If you are a bread lover, nothing beats homemade artisanal breads. You could spend time man handling the dough especially if you want a phenomenal hand workout, but I prefer to use my stand mixer. I use my heavy duty stand mixer for several baking recipes such as cookies and bread, but it is also great to use for foods such as mash potatoes.
